If you’re feeling exhausted, empty, and unable to cope with the demands of every day life, burnout might be the cause.
Take a deep breath, you’re not alone.
Life comes at us high speed; we’ve got a lot of responsibilities and obligations. But all too often, we’re quick to dismiss circumstances as ‘beyond our control.’ The key to combating burnout is reclaiming power over our decisions and actions. And the magic recipe for doing so is to build non-judgmental awareness and take one small step at a time.
Simple, but not always easy!
Here’s a little warm up exercise to bring awareness to how you’re feeling, right in this very moment. Grab a piece of paper. On one side, write “Stop Watering Dead Plants” Under it, list all the things in your life that drain you of energy. Be critical and honest– this is only for you!
Flip it over. On the other side, write “The Grass is Green Where You Water It” Here, list all the things that bring you joy, vibrancy, and happiness in your life.
Take a look at your lists. What is the smallest way you can add more of the good stuff and let go of the draining stuff, within the next 48 hours. Here’s a helpful hint, limit your swap to five minutes so you stay out of overwhelm!
Feeling energized and inspired on a daily basis is totally possible. And you don’t have to tackle this challenge alone.
